No weapons are permitted in the court room or the municipal building. All persons and packages are subject to weapons screening upon entrance into the courtroom.

Please remain seated quietly in the court room. Proceedings are recorded and any background noise may cause interference on the sound recording.

Food, drink or gum chewing is not permitted in the court room. Smoking is prohibited by law in all government buildings.

When your name or the case you are involved in is called, come forward to the podium to speak to the judge. Do not approach the bench at any time. Turn cell phones and pagers off or to vibrate.

If you wish to apply for a Public Defender please download the “Financial Questionnaire to Establish Indigency” form and bring the completed form with you the day of your court appearance. Please note that completion of this form does not guarantee appointment of a public defender, it is subject to the Judge’s review and approval in accordance with certain guidelines. The judge may assess a public defender fee of up to $200.00 which should be paid prior to your court date.

You may log onto the above website. Be sure to have your traffic summons available when you log on. At the current time this option is only available for payment of traffic summonses that do not require a court appearance.

Payment by Mail:
Please mail your check or money order to 2400 Voorhees Town Center, Voorhees, New Jersey 08043 and make your check or money order payable to Voorhees Municipal Court. Be sure to enclose your summons with payment or note summons or complaint number on your check or money order. If you do not have your summons or complaint numbers please include your full name, date of birth, and driver’s license number. Please do not send cash. If you would like a receipt please send a self addressed stamped envelope.

Payment in Person:
Please come to the court office located at the above address during the office hours of Monday- Friday 8am to 5pm. Please bring with you your summons or complaint or a previous receipt if you are paying on a time payment account. If you do not have the summons or complaint number please be ready to provide the court employee assisting you with your full name, date of birth, and driver’s license number and your vehicle registration number for parking tickets. The court office is able to accept cash, check, money order, VISA, and Mastercard for payment. Please make your check or money order payable to the Voorhees Municipal Court. The court also has a drop box which is checked daily located at the front of building by the glass door for after hours (checks and money orders only).

Access to court records is generally guided by the basic principle that, in the interest of an open and transparent court system, all case-related court records are open to public inspection unless there is a specific statue or court rule that exempts them. Judiciary staff are guided by Administrative Directive #03-11 Judiciary Open Records: Policies and Procedures for Access to case Related Court Records – Staff Guidelines for providing access to court records. As stated in the Guidelines, “These procedures have been established to further the Judiciary’s open records policy, assure consistent and uniform response by court staff throughout the state, and eliminate artificial barriers that delay or complicate access by the public.” The statutory or rule authority for exempting specific records from disclosure is noted in the Guidelines.
